Ontario is the only province with an open, licensed online casino market, and the brands listed here are the ones in our pool registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario to operate through iGaming Ontario.

19+. Some links on this page are affiliate links: the operator may pay us a commission if you open an account. It costs you nothing and does not change the order of any list. Terms move; the operator's own page is the final word. How we rate

That register went live on 4 April 2022. It is a short list on purpose: a page about registered operators that padded itself out with offshore brands would be a different page.

There is no such thing as a Canadian licence

Gambling is regulated province by province. An AGCO registration covers Ontario and nothing else; the other provinces run their own sites under a conduct-and-manage model, Alberta opened a licensed market of its own in 2026, and the Kahnawake Gaming Commission has licensed operators from within Canada since 1999, mainly for players elsewhere. Any site claiming to be "licensed in Canada" is describing something that does not exist.

What registration changes for a player

Two things, both practical. A registered operator answers to the AGCO, so a complaint has somewhere to go after the operator's own process is exhausted. And the advertising standards are stricter: a registered site may not advertise a welcome bonus or free spins to Ontario players at all, which is why an offer that appears on one of these pages is marked as the one published outside Ontario. The absence of a bonus headline on an Ontario-facing site is compliance, not a worse deal.

Age, and where the line sits

The legal gambling age in Ontario is 19, as it is in most of the country; Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec set it at 18. Ontario's self-exclusion tools and the province's own help line, ConnexOntario, are listed on our responsible gambling page, and they work regardless of where an operator is licensed.

Offshore sites are still reachable from Ontario

Registration did not switch the offshore market off. An Ontario player can still open an account with a site licensed in Curaçao, Malta or Anjouan, and most pages on this site describe exactly those brands. What registration changes is the address a complaint can go to and the advertising rules the operator has to follow — not whether the site loads. Both lists live here, each labelled for what it is, rather than one list pretending the other does not exist.
