Gambling is entertainment that costs money. It is not an income, not a way out of debt and not a skill that improves with practice at a slot machine. Everything on this site is written for adults who have decided to gamble anyway and want the terms in front of them before they deposit.

The rules that keep it entertainment
- Decide the amount before you open the cashier, and treat it as spent the moment you deposit.
- Never deposit borrowed money, and never deposit to recover a loss.
- Set a deposit limit at the casino itself, not in your head — most licensed sites offer one.
- Keep gambling out of the hours when you are tired, drinking, or alone with a bad day.
- Crypto moves fast and settles immediately; a deposit limit matters more, not less, when there is no card issuer to decline the next transaction.
Signs it has stopped being entertainment
Chasing losses, hiding the amount from people close to you, gambling to feel normal rather than to be entertained, borrowing to play, or playing longer than planned every single time. Any one of these is a reason to use the tools below today rather than next month.
Tools every licensed casino has to give you
Deposit limits, loss limits, session reminders, a cooling-off period and permanent self-exclusion. They are in the account settings, usually under responsible gambling. A site that does not offer them is a site this page would rather you left.
Free, confidential help in Canada
These organisations are independent of this site and of any operator listed on it. They do not charge, and they do not need your name.
- ConnexOntario — free and confidential, 24 hours a day, by phone on 1-866-531-2600, by text or online chat.
- Responsible Gambling Council — a national non-profit with self-assessment tools and provincial resources.
- Gamblers Anonymous — local meetings across Canada and a self-assessment questionnaire.
Every province also runs its own service, and the number for yours is on the Responsible Gambling Council site. If you are in crisis, 988 reaches the national suicide crisis helpline in Canada at any hour.
Self-exclusion that works outside one casino
Each province operates its own self-exclusion register, and it covers that province's own gambling rather than every site on the internet: GameSense through BCLC in British Columbia, the AGLC programme in Alberta, Loto-Québec in Quebec, and in Ontario the scheme run through the regulated operators. An offshore crypto casino is not part of any of them, which is why the limit you set inside the casino account, and a block list on your own devices, matter more here than they would at a provincial site.
Age
The legal gambling age in Canada is set by the province: 19 in most of the country, and 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. Gambling by anyone below it is illegal wherever this site writes about. If a child has access to your devices, tools such as Gamban or a router-level block list are more reliable than a password.
